Healthy Changes in the Skin Care Industry

When it comes to skincare one of the greatest trends in the industry over the last twenty years has been the elimination of animal testing from almost every reputable brand. This has gradually developed into consumer awareness of many aspects of the skin care products and cosmetics industry. People now are much more concerned not only about where their products come from but how they are made, and equally importantly what is in each of them.

The elimination of parabens, chemicals, and synthetic ingredients has greatly reduced the impact of possible allergic reactions to consumers who are sensitive to those items. Likewise, the inclusion of natural preservatives in skin care products is continuing to increase and is also likely a result of a consumer push towards more ethical and healthy alternatives.

Many skin care products available today are also sourcing their all natural ingredients from sustainable and eco-friendly sources. This means that many elements are selected individually by experienced and educated technicians for freshness, quality, potency, and purity of the source.

All in all these developments in the skin care products industry are doing a great deal of good. The consumers are benefitting from the lack of additional chemicals and toxins in their lives, and the Environment worldwide is being encouraged to produce simpler, cleaner versions of daily use items. The trend to eco-friendly not only links to the naturally sourced products used in the creation of the products, but even extends to the bottles and containers now used to package your lotions and potions. It was not long ago when none of the packaging was recyclable, and now almost every bottle is.  The other amazing aspect is that many small makers can be found locally yet still provide top of the line products without the marketing budget or corner cutting on quality a major brand might be tempted to do.

These are definitely trends that are better for everyone; let’s help them continue by seeking out the brands that are good for us and are helping make a difference.
